Fifteen years after the Heiji Rebellion, the Heike clan has reached the height of its power, while the Genji clan remains devastated by defeat. Hidden deep within the mountains of Kurama lives Shanao, the youngest surviving male heir to the Genji name. However, Shanao harbors a deep secret known by very few.
The youngest heir to the Genji name is no man.
Torn between her duty to live up to the Genji family name and her desire to live a peaceful life, Shanao sets off in hopes to take down the Heike stronghold and finally bring peace in the country. The Object of My Affection – Shanao will encounter five potential routes, each with an Affection Level – a meter that shows how much you have progressed with the character based on the choices made. Once you've decided on your route, maintain your Affection Level to get up close and personal with someone…
Testing My Abilities – There are 3 Character Abilities Shanao possesses: Strength, Knowledge, and Kindness. As you progress, you are given choices that will affect her Character Abilities. Try to find an equal balance for all 3 abilities. Too high or low of any ability can trigger a bad outcome!
Apple of My Ai – The Ai-Catch system allow players to gauge how their choices affect a character’s Affection Level and Shanao’s Character Abilities in real time! A seedling will indicate a poor Affection Level, while a blooming flower shows a promising Affection Level. The outer frame of the screen will also change into 3 colors: Red, Blue, and Green. Respectively, each color is associated with Shanao’s Character Ability: Strength, Knowledge, and Kindness. Keeping a close tab on your decision can help Shanao reach her true ending!
Take Another Stab – After completing a chapter, players can revisit it and manipulate the Affection Levels and Character Abilities – the two main measures that determines the progress of a route. If you feel Shanao is headed down the wrong path, replay the chapter and get back on track!

Great transaction!

Yet Another Great LE
I had high expectations from the Cupid Parasite LE, and Birushana's Limited Edition did not disappoint: I am very much a fan of having the soundtrack for my favorite games, and everything else that came with it. The game itself is great, too, with beautiful art and a storyline that got my interest almost immediately.

Fun historical supernatural otome, some QC issues
I'm a big fan of collector's and limited editions, and this Birushana LE is to date one of the nicest LE I've purchased from IFI. I love that the mini artbook comes with bonus after stories, and the steelbook was absolutely gorgeous--though I do wish it were the standard size. The die-cut stickers were appreciated, as I was sad that they were only offered for the Cupid Parasite Europe Day One edition. Overall, the LE shows a lot of thought and care to what actual players would want in an otome LE.
As for the game itself, it won't go down as a favorite for me, though I did have a lot of fun playing it. With the original JP game, the story can get very repetitive, as the overall plot doesn't change much. But the cast was great, particularly Shanao's "harem"; Shanao, the MC, is one of my favorites because she is kind and capable; and there were a couple of really strong and well-written routes.
For the localization, there were a frightening number of punctuation errors, mostly missing or inappropriate commas. The QC improved with the latter routes, but for some of the earlier routes, I was counting 100+ errors just with regards to improper punctuation. -

I liked the Cupid Parasite LE a bit more because I prefer getting Charms/standees/pins. I wasn't really a fan of the stickers, but at least it had an art book. That's the main reason I bought this LE.

Excellent!
I was so pleased to come across this store. This is by far the most well rounded bundle I’ve ever purchased for a game. I love how everything was so carefully packaged, even putting tissue paper between each bromide. I am so impressed by the quality and care. Also, I am absolutely thrilled that I can finally get my hands on translated audio dramas! I can only hope we continue to receive such vip goods!

Please keep up these excellent otome limited editions!! I’m always excited to see an art book and a sound track cd. If future limited editions are up to this standard I will continue to buy them.

BIRUSHANA Limited Edition
Another lovely limited edition - the box is nice, the inclusion of the soundtrack is wonderful (tho it would be nice if the OP and ED were there too). It’s always great to have an art book and the inclusion of the after-ending short stories is an awesome little addition. The stickers are very cute, and the cards are nice. The metal game case is pretty but feels redundant when we still have the regular game case too. I only wish that this limited edition had keychains of the LI’s like Cupid Parasite did, but other than that I’m really happy with it (maybe you could have a surprise merch announcement like you did with the Cupid Parasite pillows and keychain stands…. a little Yoritomo and Benkei to bring with me everywhere would be an instant-buy,)
I’ve played 4/5 routes and it’s an engaging story — Shanao is a great protagonist, the dynamic sprites are very cool. -
Birushana: Rising Flower of Genpei Limited Edition
I love this game! The art is beautiful and the translation is really well done. The Limited Edition comes with all kinds of really cool extras, some of my favorites being the art book and the drama CDs. Even the box that everything comes in is beautiful!
